Who pays agents?

A lot of "agent revenue" is the agent, its operator, or a registry paying itself. We trace each seller's USDC onchain and only count money that comes from outside wallets.

    Onchain first

    For every x402 seller on Base we pull each USDC transfer into and out of its payTo wallet for the window, then read tx receipts to keep only x402 settlements (EIP-3009, submitted by an x402 facilitator).

    Outside means outside

    A payer only counts if the seller didn't fund it and doesn't pay it. We also test breadth, concentration and who funded the top payers (2-hop). Indexers are cross-checks, and when they disagree we show it.

    Registries are claims

    Virtuals ACP figures come straight from the ACP registry API and are all-time. They can't be cut to 30 days or tied to independent payers, so they never rank as Outside.

    Limits

    Solana payTo wallets aren't traced yet. Payers are wallets, not people, and one operator can run many. High-volume sellers use sampled receipts and are marked EST.
